Virtual Presentations – UBC Faculty of Medicine

The University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine is excited to announce the launch of their new Medical Student Outreach Ambassador Program. The Faculty of Medicine plays a pivotal role in selecting and training medical doctors in British Columbia and they are hoping you will partner with them to help better inform your students regarding a possible future career in medicine.

UBC medical students can provide 30-60 minute presentations to your high school students, depending on your school’s availability. This can be done in their Career Education classes, or other similar programs. UBC is also particularly interested in presenting to students who may come from backgrounds that may be traditionally underrepresented in medicine. All presentations are currently virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

To view brochure, student videos and get more information, go to: UBC MD Ambassador Outreach Program.

Please contact them to host a UBC Medical Student Outreach Ambassador presentation at your school by registering online.

Unlock your Future – The Key to Scholarships

 Date: Tuesday, November 24, 2020

Time: 7:00pm

Location: Online via TEAMS Live Event here: https://bit.ly/2HpPstr

Join Brittany Palmer of Unlock your Future as she leads students and parents through a step-by-step program for navigating the scholarship process. Grade 11/12 students and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend: it is never too early to get started. This comprehensive presentation covers topics ranging from building your scholarship foundation to crafting a strong personal statement. Contrary to popular belief, students do not need 95% averages or international achievements to win scholarships. Through this seminar, Brittany debunks common scholarship myths and breaks down the complex process into a manageable form. Using this program, Brittany and her younger brother Bo collectively won 35 scholarships totaling over $125,000. Since 2005, she has shared her story and strategies with tens of thousands of students, parents and educators. Through this dynamic and informative presentation, Brittany demonstrates that scholarships are indeed possible.  Click here for scholarship information from Unlock your Future.  Click here for poster.
