The deadline for next year’s Youth TRAIN in Trades programs is THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020. Because of our current situation, applications will only be accepted via email. BUSINESS & MEDIA CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM (CEP) 2020

BCIT School of Business Global Relations, in partnership with the Broadcast and Media Communications would like to invite domestic and international high school students to participate in our ‘Business & Media Career Exploration Program (CEP) 2020’. Students from your school aged 14 – 17 years old are welcome to join this 2 week program. This program will be delivered at BCIT Burnaby campus (3700 Willingdon Avenue).

Package includes:

  • Career suitability testing and individual coaching
  • Interactive career labs exploring BCIT’s School of Business programs, including Marketing, Management, Human Resource   Management, Operations Management, Financial Management, Logistics, International  Business, Digital Arts, Broadcast and   Media Communications
  • Interaction with industry professionals
  • International cuisine lunches
  • Optional weekend sightseeing packages

2020 intake dates:

  • Mon, June 29th 2020 – Fri, July 10th 2020
  • Mon, August 10th 2020 – Fri, August 21st 2020

WOMEN IN TRADES TRAINING

Women in Trades Training is funded by the Government of Canada’s Women in Construction Fund and is being offered by Excel Career College together with the Industry Training Authority. During this four-month program for women, aged 16 to 60, students will have the opportunity to explore five key trades while building a community project.  There are no fees for participants! STEAM HORIZON AWARDS – APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

The INGENIUM-NSERC STEAM Horizon Awards invites Canada’s youth to promote positive changes throughout their community using science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).  Five Canadian students will be awarded $25,000 each to attend a Canadian university, college or cégep to study in a STEAM field.  Two of these awards will go to Indigenous students.

As Canada’s national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics and accelerator-based science, Triumf hopes to inspire the next generation’s leaders in physics through their outreach initiatives. This lecture series is free and covers various physics, astronomy, science and technology topics at a level appropriate for high school students and members of the public.
