Counseling services include the following:
Career Advisory Assistant available to meet individually with students.
Advising students on career goals and assistance with establishing a plan.
Checking for prerequisite courses and requirements for various occupations and post-secondary institutions.
Course planning leading to graduation, post-secondary education and employment.
Arranging for assistance for students academically.
Providing scholarship information and applications.
Helping students with the registration process for some post-secondary institutions.
Crisis counselling involving home or school issues and provide referrals to appropriate agencies.
Resolution of problems arising from difficulties related to class or school policies and procedures.
Students may drop in to see a counsellor during school hours and before or after school.
Parents are also welcome to phone counsellors or book an appointment if they have any questions or
concerns regarding their child.
Course Changes: If you wish to make a change to your course schedule that is not related to a resource or LA block, please click on the link below and fill out the form. This year, our Counsellors will be working with this form to make any necessary changes as this will help expediate the process and have students in the right classes by September 14th. Please note that some changes may not be possible due to some of the unique scheduling restrictions this year.
Study Blocks: There will be no study blocks for grade 11 students this year and a maximum of 1 study block for grade 12 students. Students in grade 12 who have been given a study block may want to replace it with a regular course as a study block will take up half of each day for an entire quarter. If you wish to replace your study block with a course please indicate this in the form below (click on the link).
